Megan

Megan’s interest in dog training began when she got her first dog, a Shih Tzu named Bentley, at the age of 12. Bentley knew many tricks and had pretty good manners! She went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in Animal & Veterinary Sciences from Clemson University. While in school, she started dog sitting. Megan continued to dog sit as a part-time gig when she moved to Boston and then South Florida. To this day, she still offers dog-sitting services, but they are reserved for training clients only.

After moving to Florida and before professionally training dogs, Megan volunteered with a local rescue where she worked with a variety of dogs on basic training and socialization to help them become more adoptable. At the same time, she found herself regularly helping friends and family work through problems with their own dogs. The need for dog trainers focused on dog AND human education was obvious. Megan left her career in marketing to dedicate herself to dog training full-time. She started AttaGirl Dog Training with the dream of helping people enjoy their dogs as much as she has enjoyed her own.

Spiller

The year was 2013. Megan was enjoying a summer break from studying at Clemson University when she met the cutest brown and white rescue puppy. It wasn’t obvious at the time, but this was the first step towards her future dog training business and marriage! She babysat that puppy, named “Spiller” after the school’s running back C.J. Spiller, who was quite the handful while her owner, AJ, was out of town. Little did she know, she’d end up permanently babysitting and fully training this dog one day... Megan and AJ are now married and Spiller is 9.5 years young! She has taught countless dogs the ropes of living the #attagooddog life and now enjoys retirement sunbathing in the yard and dipping in the pool at her leisure.
